Near Field Communication (NFC) is a set of short-range wireless technologies, typically requiring a distance of 4cm or less to initiate a connection. NFC enables the sharing of small payloads of data between an NFC tag and an Android-powered device, or between two Android-powered devices. With NFC, users can wirelessly exchange information such as contacts, websites, images, and even make purchases at supported locations. An NFC message automatically appears when the phone is within an inch of the target device.

To enable NFC on your smartphone, follow these steps:
1) Navigate to Settings > More.
2) Toggle the “NFC” switch to activate it; this will also turn on the Android Beam function automatically.
3) If Android Beam does not activate automatically, tap it and select “Yes” to enable it.

Comparing NFC and Bluetooth reveals that while NFC is limited to a distance of approximately four centimeters, Bluetooth can reach over thirty feet. Despite this disparity in range, both technologies have distinct advantages and disadvantages that can complement each other to cater to various user needs.
